By accessing or using PrivacyPolGen (the "Service"), operated by Reuben Richard Lancer ("I," "me," or "my"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, do not use the Service.

PrivacyPolGen is a free, client-side privacy policy generator. I provide templated legal language based on your inputs to help you create a starting-point privacy policy for your website, application, or business. The Service runs entirely in your browser — no data you enter is transmitted to, stored on, or processed by my servers.

3. Not Legal Advice

The content generated by PrivacyPolGen is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. I am not a law firm, I am not your attorney, and the use of this Service does not create an attorney-client relationship. You should not act or refrain from acting based on any content generated by the Service without first consulting a qualified attorney licensed in your jurisdiction. The generated policy is a starting template and may not address all legal requirements applicable to your specific situation, business model, or industry.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT ANY GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE COMPLETE, ACCURATE, OR LEGALLY SUFFICIENT FOR YOUR NEEDS.

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL I BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY FINES, PENALTIES, OR LEGAL LIABILITIES INCURRED AS A RESULT OF USING A GENERATED POLICY. MY TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $1.00 OR THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID ME IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE MONTHS.

6. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold me harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, the privacy policy you generate, or your violation of these Terms.

The Service, including its text, templates, clauses, and structure, is owned by me and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The privacy policy you generate is yours to use, modify, and distribute for any lawful purpose. However, you may not copy, redistribute, or resell the generator itself or the underlying clause templates as a competing service.

The Service may display references to third-party services (e.g., analytics, payment processors). These references are provided for informational purposes only. I am not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party services referenced in generated policies.

9. Changes to Terms

I reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. I encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of the State of Delaware. Nothing in this section limits your rights under applicable consumer protection laws in your country or state of residence. If you are a resident of a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections (including but not limited to the European Union and the United Kingdom), those protections remain unaffected.
